Thank you for your interest in volunteering with ASNL! Our volunteers help support both our programs and fundraising efforts.
PROGRAM VOLUNTEERS ̶ ASNL offers a variety of programs both on-site at the Elaine Dobbin Centre and at our Eastern Regional Office, located in Clarenville, for people on the autism spectrum of all ages and abilities. Having volunteers take part in programs gives our participants a peer to model socially expected behaviors after as well, volunteers bring new ideas and a fresh perspective to the group. Individuals on the spectrum quickly adapt to routines and can struggle with sudden change. For this reason, we ask our volunteers to commit to their chosen program and time slot for the entire semester and a provide notice if they are going to be absent.
EVENT VOLUNTEERS ̶ As a nonprofit organization ASNL relies heavily on fundraising efforts to cover the costs of operations. Our events are only possible with the help and support of our many volunteers. These events require a lot of human resources and we are always looking for passionate volunteers to help organize, plan and take part.
CORPORATE VOLUNTEERING ̶ We rely on the support of many volunteers throughout the year to complete our various onsite projects. We encourage and welcome teams from the business community to visit our site throughout the year. The activities vary and we will always make sure you are busy! Each visit includes an engaging presentation by our knowledgeable staff. We accept groups up to a maximum of 15 people at a time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am- 4:00 pm.
