Volunteer Opportunities

Being a non-profit agency, The Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador relies heavily on support from its hundreds of volunteers that help the agency through fundraising events, awareness campaigns and other events the society is involved in throughout the year. To ensure a deep volunteer base, we are always looking for names of individuals who are willing to support the Society throughout the year.

The Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, values the involvement of parents/guardians, participants in programs, community agencies, and many others for their patronage. Volunteers provide support(s) that benefit this agency through fundraising events, awareness campaigns, programming and other events the Society is involved in throughout the year. The Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador encourages and respects the commitment made by each volunteer. The volunteer support is observed through various opportunities presented: Board of Directors, Committee Members, Program Support, Fundraising Support, and Event Support. This volunteer policy is for the purpose of: Program Support, Fundraising Support, and Event Support.

The outreach coordinator (or designate) shall, for the safety of participants and the integrity of programs, ensure that appropriate procedures are in place for the screening, orientation, training, supervision, recognition, retention and evaluation of volunteers.

Volunteers participate in such activities as:

  • Programming
  • Events and fundraising

In addition, we are always looking for additional programming ideas, so if you have a particular skill or passion, we would welcome you to share that with us. Please indicate that when contacting us.
