ABOUT HARVEST OF HOPE

In everything we do, we consider nurturing an individual’s potential. We’re lucky to be a part of people’s journey to grow friendships, skills, new experiences, goals and community connections. In Fall 2017, we wanted to show these themes through an event we call The Harvest of Hope. Since then, this event has raised over $125,000 for our programs and services across the province. We need your help to reach our $100,000 goal for 2019! We welcome you into our home at the Elaine Dobbin Centre for Autism for an evening of food, music, friendship and giving.

SOCIAL ENTERPRISE

There are many things about this event that make us proud, but perhaps the biggest is how we have integrated our two social enterprises into Harvest. Hors d’oeuvres are prepared and served by The Pantry Café & Catering, using produce grown onsite in our market gardens by Good Roots Gardening.

Both enterprises employ individuals with autism and both put net revenues directly back into the services and supports we provide. By partnering with us as a sponsor or by attending as a guest, you are connecting with some exceptional themes.

SUSTAINABILITY

We operate a closed-loop food production system between Good Roots Gardening and The Pantry Café & Catering.

FOOD SECURITY

We seeded, grew and harvested over 440 pounds of herbs, veggies and berries in 2018.

WASTE DIVERSION

Since 2015, we diverted 6,000 pounds of organic waste from landfill thanks to our composting practices. That’s more than the size of an average Hippopotamus!

COMMUNITY

Since 2014, we seeded, grew and harvested 500 pounds of potatoes and 50 pounds of carrots to donate to Bridges to Hope Food Aid Centre.
